+ BODY TATTOO AFTERCARE (SECOND SKIN BANDAGE)

This is an open wound and should be treated with care. Follow these instructions closely to insure the best possible end results. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at info@pinksuedetattoo.com.

Tegaderm/Saniderm is a clear medical bandage that will make healing a breeze! This method is best used on tattoos that are not on joints or areas of the body that have a lot of movement. When used properly, the bandage will protect your tattoo from water, bacteria, and prevent you from sticking to clothes/bedding as you heal.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Your tattoo will take approximately 1-2 weeks to heal.

• You will be bandaged with a clear Tegaderm bandages when you leave the shop. During the first 24 hours, you will notice a build up of lymph, blood, and ink inside the bandage. This looks gross but don't worry - it is normal!

• After 24 hours, remove the bandage and wash with warm water and gentle soap (Liquid Dial gold, Cetaphil or Cerave are great!). When you wash, you may see some color appear to wash away with it. This is normal! After washing, pat completely dry with a clean towel.

• Using clean hands, apply the second bandage (provided at the end of your appointment) completely over the tattoo, making sure to center the piece under the clear bandage. This bandage will be left on the tattoo for 5 days.

• After 5 days, remove the bandage and wash again. At this point you will be mostly healed and can start using a simple lotion like Lubriderm on the area.

• Do not use any bar soaps, oils, serums, or harsh cleansers on your tattoo during this time.

• Avoid sweating in the area for 10-14 days.

• Avoid sun exposure on the area while healing. Once healed, always use sunscreen to protect your tattoo.

• Avoid pools, oceans, saunas, and hot tubs until fully healed. Avoid submerging or soaking your tattoo.

+ EYEBROW AND FRECKLE PRE-CARE

Read carefully and plan accordingly. These pre-care guidelines are in place so that we can get the best heal possible.

SKINCARE

• If you plan on waxing your threading your brows, have this done at least 48 hours prior of your appointment. Otherwise, there is no need to groom your brows if you do not wish. We can clean up hairs during your appointment in a way that flatters your new shape. A common misconception is that we shave the eyebrows prior to tattooing — this is untrue! We work with your existing hair growth.

• Keep your skin moisturized, but avoid all Retinoids four weeks prior to your appointment, even if not used in the brow area. This is because Retinoids travel in the skin, and cause thinner skin and more bleeding, which makes retention harder to achieve. They must be stopped completely!

• No tanning or extreme sun exposure for four weeks prior to your appointment.

• No Botox, fillers, laser, or peels four weeks prior to your brow appointment.

• You may come in with your brows filled in if you wish — but it’s not a requirement! Wearing a small amount of makeup is okay, but please refrain from wearing foundation before coming in for your appointment.

• No lash or brow growth serums on the area to be tattooed for four weeks.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS

• Avoid caffeine and alcohol 48 hours prior to your appointment. Failing to do so can make you less likely to numb and your procedure will be more painful and you will bleed more. This will make it harder for me to implant the pigment while tattooing and it will also make it harder for you to retain pigment during the healing process.

• Avoid medications that thin your blood (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, blood thinners) for 72 hours before and after your procedure. If you are unsure of your prescriptions, please consult with your doctor prior to booking. Some prescriptions or medical conditions may require a doctor’s release.

• If you have been on Accutane any time in the past year, you can not get tattooed. No exceptions.

• If you are sick, I will not tattoo you. Please contact me first so we can discuss our options! If you come into the studio and you are sick, you will be denied service and your booking fee will be forfeited. I cannot risk my health and my clients’ health.

• If you are on antibiotics of any kind, I cannot tattoo you, even if you’re on your last few days and no longer showing signs of illness. No exceptions. You must be off antibiotics for 2 weeks prior to your tattoo.

• If you are pregnant or nursing, I will not tattoo you. No exceptions.

+ EYEBROW AFTERCARE

This is an open wound and should be treated with care. Follow these instructions closely to insure the best possible end results. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at info@pinksuedetattoo.com.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Your new brows can take up to 6 weeks to fully heal.

• After 6 weeks, we are able to complete the touch up session.

• During the healing period, your eyebrows will look darker and bolder. Keep in mind that the healed result will be lighter and softer.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

• This is a wound and should be treated as such!

• For the first 24 hours, gently wipe the brow area with clean water to remove lymph. Lymph will appear on the brows as small, clear liquid drops. If the lymph dries, it will create large scabs. We don’t want that! When you wipe, you may see some color appear on your paper towel. Don’t worry — this is normal!

• Twice per day, clean your tattoo with a simple cleanser (Brows Eyes Lips, Cetaphil, Cerave, or Gold Dial) by lathering in your hands, gently cleansing, rinse with water, and pat dry immediately. If your brows start to lightly scab, just wash around them. Avoid getting your scabbing/flaking wet!

• Do not use any ointments, lotions, bar soaps, oils, serums, or harsh cleansers on your brows during this time.

• Avoid working out — including yoga or an other activity that causes you to sweat — for 10-14 days.

• Do not apply makeup on or near the tattooed area for 10-14 days.

• Do not touch, pick, or scratch. If you need to touch your brows, wash your hands first!

• Avoid sun exposure for 30 days. Once healed, it is recommended that you use sunscreen on the area.

• Avoid pools, oceans, saunas, and hot tubs until fully healed. Avoid submerging your brows or soaking them. When showering, be careful with water from the showerhead — if you get moisture on them, pat dry immediately.

If you are planning a chemical peel, laser treatments, or an MRI, please let your practitioner know that you have cosmetic tattoos. Cosmetic tattoo pigments are an iron oxide base and could cause irritation with these treatments.

+ FRECKLE AFTERCARE

This is an open wound and should be treated with care. Follow these instructions closely to insure the best possible end results. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at info@pinksuedetattoo.com.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Freckles take about 5-7 days to heal.

• During the healing period, you cannot wear any makeup on your freckles.

• Immediately after the tattoo, your freckles will look bold. There is sometimes redness in the area for the first few days. This is normal and will subside with ehaling.

• Once healed, the freckles will look more soft and natural.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

• This is a wound and should be treated as such!

• Wash your face once per day with a gentle cleanser that is fragrance and dye free. Pat the area dry. Do not apply any product to your healing tattoo.

• Avoid working out -- inlcude yoga or any other activity that causes you to swear -- for 7 days. Sweating will make your freckles heal light or disappear, so this is very important!

• Do not apply makeup near the tattooed area for 7 days.

• Do not touch, pick, or scratch.

• Avoid sun exposure for 7 days. Once healed, it is recommended that you use sunscreen on the area.

• Avoid pools, oceans, saunas, and hot tubs until fully healed. Avoid submerging your face in water. When showering, be careful with water from the showerhead — if you get moisture on them, pat dry immediately.

• You must discontinue any facial laser treatments in the tattooed area indefinitely.
